End User License Agreement
TRA Oman is establishing a national program to test and measure Fixed broadband performance. As you have been nominated to participate as a volunteer, please read the terms and information below and sign this agreement in order to proceed with the delivery of the device to you:
General information:
1- The purpose of this program is to measure your Fixed Broadband services performance and compare this data with other consumers to create a representative index of fixed broadband performance around Sultanate of Oman. This program will last for couple of months, noting that the device that will be delivered to you is the property of the Authority.
2- At any time during the program, you can contact us through the following channels if you have any questions or enquiry or comment or feedback, or if you have any problems with your testing device:
a. Email: supportqos@tra.gov.om
b. TRA Call Center: 1000 (8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Sunday to Thursday)
c. TRA WhatsApp: 24222222 (7:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M., Sunday to Thursday)
3- During the performing of the Program, the TRA would hold some information that could be considered as “Personally Identifiable Information” (or PII) such as: your name, your house address, your email address, your IP Address.
4- TRA undertakes not to share your personal information; but we may share that information with SamKnows (TRA’s Fixed broadband measurement solution vendor) and/or ARAMEX (TRA local partner) & service operators (Omantel, Ooredoo, Awasr) after obtaining your prior consent. In some cases, personally identifiable information may be shared with your ISP to verify the related information to the program. We will strive to comply with & protect all data privacy & protection laws and regulations.
5- Your Internet service may be affected when measuring quality, and by accepting to join this program, you relieve TRA and your Internet Service Provider of any responsibility.
6- Once the device is recovered, these obligations are considered canceled against the parties (the Authority and the consumer).
Our commitment:
1- ARAMEX will deliver the device to your residence, and the TRA has the right to restore the device whenever it deems Appropriate.
2- We will provide you with a unique login and password to access an online reporting system and to view your broadband performance statistics.
3- We do not and will not monitor or track your internet activity in any way, including websites you visit or any content or data relating to your online activity.
4- We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that ours Services do not affect the performance of your broadband Connection, we do acknowledge that the Measurement Services may occasionally affect the quality of your connection.
Your Commitment:
1- The measuring device is owned by the Authority and your use of it does not entitle you to any legal rights over it, and you agree and acknowledge to pay the value of the device in the event of damage to the device during the program period, if the damage is due to your negligence or misuse.
2- You hereby acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of the Samknows agreement published on their website, to the extent that does not conflict with the contract between the company and TRA or any laws issued in the Sultanate of Oman
3- Do not unplug the device unless you are not at home for a long time or need to perform maintenance on your network. If necessary, please try to reduce the time the device is disconnected.
4- Not to reverse program the device, tamper with it, dispose of it, or destroy it in any way (or attempt to do so); as it is the property of TRA and must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
5- Not to tamper with or damage the device in any way (or attempt to do so).
6- You agree to treat this program with high confidentiality thus you will not give or otherwise transfer the testing device or the Software to any third party, including (but not limited to) to any ISP.
